Shoulders Back

I woke from a dream. Watching a ballet class I had intended to take. At the end of the class instructed by an older demanding dancer we lined up in to lines to leave the class. From behind I felt the gentle pressing of the young man behind me. His torso was guiding my own to let my shoulders roll back heavy – my spine growing longer as my skull reached to the ceiling. His right hand gently guiding my right arm in second position…caressing it from behind to lengthen and also relax – he took his arm away for a moment so I could be in control – my weak arm fell inches – muscles I hadn’t used in years unable to hold the weight… his had was soon back coaxing my arm into position. This was an act of a peer helping another – no judgement – just intense direct guidance to set something right – or rather remind a person that the body knows – you know – relax…

Even at 5am I’m walking taller and conscious of my steps.

(the man behind me was smaller and younger than me – wore a striped shirt and tights)
